WHY WE FAST
Fasting is a spiritual discipline where we intentionally set aside something we rely on, most often food, to create more space for God. When we fast, we quiet our physical desires so we can sharpen our spiritual focus, seeking Him with our mind, heart, body, and spirit. As we hunger physically, we are reminded of our deeper need for God and His Word.
There are several different ways to partner prayer and fasting together, and we encourage you to choose the option that best fits your season and allows you to seek God wholeheartedly.

LIQUID FAST
A liquid fast is where you consume only liquids such as water, juice, broths, or smoothies. This type of fast allows you to remove the time and attention usually spent on meals and redirect it toward prayer, worship, and seeking God.

PARTIAL FAST
A partial fast involves giving up certain foods
(such as sweets, caffeine, or meat) or skipping one or two meals for a set period of time. This is a flexible and sustainable option that helps build discipline and intentional dependence on God.

MEDIA FAST
A media fast is the intentional pause from digital distractions such as social media, streaming, television, or unnecessary screen time. Instead of scrolling or watching, you use that time to pray, read Scripture, and be present with God.

6:00am Morning Prayer
There’s something powerful about starting the day in prayer.
Join us at 6:00am on Tuesday and Friday mornings, from January 5th - January 25th, as we begin our day together.
These moments are an opportunity to refocus our hearts on Jesus, seek His presence, and start our days grounded in faith as we walk through the week during our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting.

“Fasting helps us to express, to deepen, and to confirm the resolution that we are ready to sacrifice anything, even ourselves, to attain the Kingdom of God.”
— Andrew Murray
How Do We Approach These 21 Days?
Step 1: PREPARE
Building a consistent rhythm of prayer and Scripture doesn’t happen by accident, it happens through intention.
During these 21 days, we can follow the example Jesus set for us.
“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He departed and went out to a desolate place, and there He prayed.”
- Mark 1:35
From Jesus’ example, we learn three important principles that help us cultivate a daily life of prayer and time in God’s Word:
A Certain TIME
Jesus intentionally set aside time to meet with His Heavenly Father. In the same way, choose a specific time each day to spend with God. Treat it like an appointment, something you prioritize and protect.
A Certain PLACE
Jesus sought out a quiet, undistracted place to pray. Find a space where you can focus fully on God (free from distractions) where you can pray, reflect, and even play worship music as you seek His presence.
A Certain PLAN
Spiritual growth is nurtured through consistency. Create a plan that includes daily Scripture reading, intentional prayer, and a fasting practice that fits your season of life. Having a plan helps you stay focused and engaged throughout the 21 days.
Step 2: BE IN THE WORD
God speaks to us through His Word, and spending time in Scripture is essential to growing in our relationship with Him.
During these 21 days, we encourage you to approach daily Bible reading with intention using the BREAD method.
This simple framework helps guide your time in Scripture so you can listen, reflect, and respond to what God is speaking.
Be Still
Find a quiet place where you can encounter God.
Invite Him into this time and pause in stillness, allowing your heart and mind to settle before Him.
Read
Read the Scripture slowly and intentionally.
Pay attention to a verse or phrase that stands out, captures your attention, or stirs something in you.
Encounter
Meditate on the verse you’ve chosen.
Reflect on what God may be revealing to you and how His Word is speaking into your life today.
Apply
Consider how this Scripture can shape your thoughts, actions, or attitudes throughout the day.
Ask yourself how you can live out what God is showing you.
Devote
Close your time by responding to God in prayer.
Write or speak a simple prayer of devotion, surrendering your heart and day to Him.
